United Way was established in Queensland in 2005 to support those in need in the community. It is based on the concept that united we can help each and every member of our community to live a fulfilling and dignified existence.

United Way achieves this by providing opportunities for businesses and individuals to support community organisations financially and through volunteering.

United Way Queensland is a member of the 120 year old global United Way network, which operates in 4000 communities in 46 countries. United Way internationally distributes $5 billion a year. In Australia, United Way is present in 9 local communities and distributes $5 million annually to disadvantaged groups.
