PROVIDING COMFORT FOR DEAFBLIND RESIDENTS AT FORSIGHT

In 2006 thanks to United Way Sydney donors, Forsight Foundation was able to provide a safer, more comfortable environment for the residents of the group home via installation of a ducted air conditioning system.

A risk assessment previously had identified that the personal security of the adults with disabilities was of concern when windows were left open during the night, and when residents were away from the group home. The ducted air-conditioning system has enabled a controlled temperature in summer and winter and made the living environment more comfortable.

There has been a noticeable reduction in frustration and behaviours amongst residents living at the group home since then.
