THANKS TO AUNTIES & UNCLES, OLIVIA HAS SOMEONE SPECIAL IN HER LIFE

The Aunties & Uncles program seeks to support the family system by assisting vulnerable families in times of stress, and helping build a better life for children. Volunteer ‘Aunties & Uncles’ give their time, skills and patience to help the children and young people in our program. Young people experience improved behaviour, expanded life and social skills, and the Bankstown community benefits with healthier, happier and stronger family units.

Through United Way Sydney donors, Aunties and Uncles was able to link up young Olivia with Aunty Lyn. Olivia’s mum, a single mother with no extended family, wanted her daughter to have a caring adult in her life – someone who would spend quality time with her, support and nurture her just as a loving grandparent or aunt and uncle might do. 

Lyn has a very large, close knit extended family. Olivia is benefiting greatly from having someone special to focus attention on her and the bond between them is growing stronger with every visit.
